Christmas Jar Candles

For Christmas, I bought big jar candles and made tags for them. The tags double as Christmas ornaments when the candle has burned away.

I started by sandwiching chipboard between two pieces of designer paper, so the tag would be nice and sturdy. Then I cut the tags using a big paper trimmer, and used a Crop-O-Dial to insert eyelets.

I gave a little extra slack to the ribbon, so the tag could easily slip off the candle. After that, I added lots of glitter… because I like sparkly things, and Christmastime is the season to shine.

The white candles smelled like vanilla, so I used a dove stamp (by Inkadinkado) and the word PEACE (letter stamps by Image Tree). The tan candles smelled like gingerbread, so I looked online for a free downloadable gingerbread house, which I colored with Zig markers.

A close-up of the Peace tag.

…and the gingerbread tag.

They were a huge hit… now, what to make this year?

What a great idea! These are so cute! 🙂

    • I recently saw small little jar candles in Family Dollar. They have tropical drink scents- Pina Colada, Strawberry Daquiri…. and they are two for $1. If anyone has any summer parties planned, they would make cute favors for your guests.
